The Process
Every explainer video follows a similar process and my role is of a Lead Designer /AD:
First is the project kick-off call with all the internal stakeholders and creatives. Then I partner with a copy writer to come up with one or two concepts (the amount of cencepts is dependant on the complexity of the ask). After we submit our concepts, a CD reviews and gives feedback. The copywriter and I resubmit our concepts if there were changes and then they're submitted for internal approval. After this round of approval, the copywriter submits a clean copydeck and I start building the storyboards. After the storyboards go through rounds of approval, only then can I start the animtion process. I design the storyboards and graphics in Illustrator then animate in After Effects.
